SECOND CERAMIC TILE LAYING CHAMPIONSHIP TAKES PLACE IN MOLDOVA

Chisinau, March 25 ( INFOTAG ). Alexandr Iudin has won the Second Ceramic Tile Laying Championship, which was conducted in the frame of the Moldconstruct-2009 exhibition. His money premium constituted 15 thousand lei.

Director General of the Casa Modernă network of specialized shops Valeri Gusilo said that one of the championship's main objectives was to determine the best masters, in order to recommend them to clients.

The competition was carried on under the auspices of he Ministry of Construction and Territory Development and the Casa Moderna, which sells facing materials, acted as the organizer.

According to Gusilo, the Organizing Committee received more than 40 applications. Thirty-two tile laying experts were admitted for the participation in the selection round, which constituted from theoretical test and a complicated practical task. Eight experts passed to the finale.

"The training level of the participants was a little higher and tasks for finalists were more complicated that last year", he said.

The winner considered that he had the most difficult task as a result of casting a lot. It included the installation of ten horizontal friezes.

"But I was studied to lay tiles myself, in the 1990s I began working as a tile laying specialist, then I used to ask, consult, to study specialized magazines", Iudin confessed.

Teodor Cazacu won the second prize - 10 thousand lei. One of the last year participants in the First Ceramic Tile Laying Championship Vladimir Svecla won the third premium - 5 thousand lei.

In addition to money prizes all the finalists received certificates for 10 thousand lei, which give them the right to acquire tile laying instruments in the Casa Modernă network of specialized shops.
